Palladium the Facts

Palladium is classed as a precious metal, and in fact is one of the platinum group metal. Palladium currently trades for between quarter and a half of platinum's cost, a fact consumers are currently appreciating due to the recent increases in the prices of gold and platinum, allowing alladium jewellery to make substantial inroads into the market. More than a fifth of the world's net palladium supply now goes to jewellery, with most of the demand arising in China.

Like platinum, palladium can be made into jewellery either on its own or combined with other metals. Palladium, for example, can be substituted for nickel in the manufacture of white gold.
